SIR Paul McCartney gave Washuntara two thumbs up and declared: "He's rockin'!" after the international singer/songwriter performed a selection of his original music at Sir Paul's intimate end-of-tour party in Osaka in 2005.
Washuntara is now home in Ormiston from the USA and rocking the Grand View Hotel on Wednesday nights with his unique mix of song and story.
Born in the Aussie bush and based for about half of each year in Nashville, USA, where he has enjoyed enormous success as a songwriter for the past 20 years, this world class act loves being home in the Redlands and loves taking his music to the people.
His song, Can't Stop Love, was instantly snapped up by Disney and will also feature in the inspirational movie The Truth: The Journey Within, to be released later this year.
Washuntara, who as Brenton Roberts had Top 10 hits on the Australian and European charts in the 1980s before heading to the USA, has performed with some of the world's greatest acts, including Sir Paul McCartney, INXS, Garth Brooks, Moody Blues, Jerry Lee Lewis and others.
He was the first musician to be awarded the Commonwealth Government Exports Grant, seeding his own music publishing company, Passionworks, which has enjoyed great success on Nashville's famous Music Row for more than a decade.
Washuntara said he was pleased to be performing at the Grand View.
"I love this old hotel," he said.
"It's because of a performance at the Grand View several years ago that I now call the Redlands my Australian home.
"The atmosphere is amazing at the Grand View."
Enjoy dinner at the Grand View and then catch a Wednesdays with Washuntara performance upstairs from 7pm.
Tickets are $10 at the door for the performance. More information at www.washuntara.co m
