CONGRATULATIONS to Arnold and Alma Robe who recently celebrated their 60th (diamond) wedding anniversary at the Adventist Retirement Village, Victoria Point in the company of family and friends.
Arnold and Alma (nee Heise) were married at Sherwood Adventist Church, Brisbane on February 2, 1950. Most of their married life was spent in Underwood.
They had three children Glenda, Lynette and Wendy as well as two granddaughters, Dr Ruth-Ellen Marks and Amy-Lyn Marks.
Arnold was a school teacher for 33 years, first at Yeronga State School and then at Mt Gravatt State High School.
Alma, a trained nurse, became a home-maker, caring for the needs of the family and especially their severely disabled daughter for 28 years.
They retired in 1987 and moved to a delightful hobby farm at Mt Tamborine.
In 1998, they moved to the Adventist Retirement Village at Victoria Point where they still reside.
Arnold and Alma have always been noted for their hospitality, neighbourliness and stirling Christian character.
