Redlands MP Peter Dowling is calling on the State Government to sign off on promised and budgeted intersection upgrades along Cleveland-Redland Bay Road at Beveridge Road, Magnolia Parade, Dinwoodie Road and Ziegenfusz Road.
Mr Dowling said while Faith Lutheran College had contributed funds to the Department of Main Roads for traffic lights at their intersection, they had not yet seen any return on their investment.
"I am fearful that any more delay could see another tragic incident along what is described by police as a road that has 'a disproportionately high crash history'," Mr Dowling said.
"Students and teachers at Faith face a daily battle with high volume, fast flowing traffic and no crossing lights," Mr Dowling said.
"Every day that the lights are delayed is another day that students' and teachers' lives are at risk."
Mr Dowling said his repeated representations to the State Government indicated the roadworks were just waiting to be signed off by Climate Change and Sustainability Minister, Kate Jones.
