REDLANDS Easter Family Festival is 11 years young this year and not only bringing back all the favourites from last year's festival, but offering new and exciting fun for the whole family and all for free.
The completely free festival will be held on the "4th of the 4th from 4pm" - Sunday, April 4 from 4pm until the dramatic fireworks display at 7.30pm at Norm Price Park -Redland Showgrounds with free rides, balloon art, food, face painting and a maze just some of the attractions.
Festival president Deborah Wagner, said the festival brought together more than a dozen local churches and offered something for everyone.
"Where else can you go for a completely free day out with entertainment and food all provided?" Deborah said. "It's a great day where the churches want to meet the community at their point of need.
"The festival provides a chance for families to be together and explore 'family matters', which is the theme for the festival this year, and provides people with a chance to learn more about faith and the Easter message by chatting to members of the church who will be around during the festival."
The main stage will showcase a range of impressive talent, from the triumphant return of American singer Keith Lancaster, who wowed audiences at last year's festival, to the dramatic Easter story 'Resurrection to Revolution' set to music and fireworks that will wrap up the festivities. Social justice band Remember Seven and local acts will also perform through the evening.
In addition to a host of professional talent on the main stage, Romeo the Radio Dog from the 96.5 FamilyFM radio station will be MC for the highly successful Redlands Young Talent competition for kids in Prep through to Year 12.
For kids keen to find out how to have more fun in church, leaders from 'Young Life' youth ministries will be around with plenty of information and activities, while parents are invited to hear Pastor Neale Collier discuss his next parenting course, 'The Keys to a Child's Heart' on the main stage. Neale is the pastor at the Mount Cotton Community Fellowship church and chaplain at Cleveland District State High School.
Redland City Mayor Melva Hobson said the festival was a big event on the Redlands calendar.
"It's a great event where all the churches in the Redlands come together to welcome the community to come and share in fellowship and family," Cr Hobson said.
Organisers would like to thank their generous sponsors, Redland City Council, Freeman's Hire and Redlands College at Wellington Point, as well as all the churches involved.
