A LITTLE bit of Hollywood came to Victoria Point Shopping Centre on Friday, March 11, when showbiz insider Nelson Aspen visited the Angus & Robertson bookstore.
A crowd of nearly 70 people turned out to meet the showbiz reporter from Channel 7's Sunrise program and get signed copies of his new book, Dinner At Nelson's - A Delicious Collection of Conversations & Cuisine (New Holland, RRP $40 ).
First in line was Stephanie Pollock, of Redland Bay, who had already read the book from cover to cover. She had waited in line for an hour before Nelson's scheduled arrival time of 4.30pm.
"I got there at about 3.20pm, nice and eager, but he was actually about 45 minutes late because there was no GPS in their car and they got lost! I didn't mind," she said.
Staying behind to sign everyone's copies of his book and take photographs, the lively author was "a genuine gentleman," Stephanie said.
"We were delighted that such a high profile media personality has been able to fit Victoria Point into his tour schedule," Angus & Robertson Victoria Point franchise owner Kevin Elliott said.
w The store will next host best-selling British author Jeffrey Archer on Saturday, March 26, from 10am-11am.
He will talk about his latest novel, The Clifton Chronicles Volume 1: Only Time Will Tell (Macmillan, RRP $49.99).
