IT'S not the place. It's the person.
Either way, Paris has everyone talking, especially the cast of the show who met its creator Jon English recently.
Based on the fabled tale of Troy, the Trojan War and the Trojan horse, Paris was written by Jon English and David Mackay.
It will be performed from September 26 to October 11 at Iona Performing Arts Centre by Savoyards.
Justin Tamblyn of Birkdale plays the role of Paris of Troy against Kellie Ireland as Helen.
Further Redland performers include Vanessa Wainwright of Alexandra Hills as Cassandra, Melissa and Gregg Quinn of Victoria Point as Hector and his wife, Paul Fegan of Alexandra Hills as Menelaus, Clay Engllish of Mount Cotton as Aeneus, Stuart Fitzpatrick, Capalaba, as the fisherman, Trevor and Jocelyn Sammon of Birkdale, Rex Wainwright of Alexandra Hills, Rowena Plant of Birkdale, Dayna Thomas and Sylvia van der Weyden of Ormiston.
The Troy myth goes that King Priam, of Troy, sends his young son, Paris, on a diplomatic voyage to a Greek nation. The ship sinks, Paris is washed up on Sparta, and is nursed by the beautiful Helen. Paris and Helen fall in love, and when they return to Troy, Helen's husband Menelaus, King of Sparta, thinks Helen has been abducted, and wages war on Troy.
