Redland Bay Fire Station on track

16 Oct, 2009 10:26 AM
CONSTRUCTION on the Redland Bay Fire Station is well under way, with plans for it to be finished the first week of December - a week or two earlier than originally planned.

Acting manager of Regional Planning for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Simon Ball, said the project had been blessed with fine weather and there had been no major holdups on supplies.

The building's walls and roof have been installed.

"They are just fitting out the internal joineries and floors at the moment," Mr Ball said.

The advent of Redland Bay Fire Station is mostly due to John English's continued lobbying of State Government.

In this drought it can't be a reality soon enough.

Thanks John.

English promised he would build this for the last 4 elections; this is so long overdue it's disgusting. He should be pilloried for his laziness, not praised.
