Redlands Directory offers new era in shopping locally

13 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
A COMPREHENSIVE list of businesses in Redland City is now no further than a click away after the launch of the online edition of the Redlands Community Telephone Directory.

The digital edition can be accessed online at www.baysidebulletin.com.au, and complements the popular hard-copy Redlands community directory.

Bayside Bulletin managing editor Brian Hurst said the digital Redlands Directory would be the first in a suite of online directories for the Redlands.

The directory aims to support Redlands-based businesses by making it easier for customers to find them - either through a search of the directory itself or through internet search engines, such as Google.

"Users of the site can either search for a product, service or business by topic, business or theme, or select businesses from 28 main categories or nearly 900 sub-categories," Mr Hurst said.

Online advertisers have the added advantage of being featured on the high-profile Bayside Bulletin website, which generates about 100,000 page impressions per month.

Mr Hurst said baysidebulletin.com.au was the leading online source of Redland City news, information, events, clubs and classified advertising, with direct links to other useful sites.

The Redlands directory has been custom-designed using the latest web-building technology ? including the ability to adapt for optimal viewing on a variety of digital platforms.

"The Redlands Directory website is able to detect if you are using a mobile phone or tablet and resize the view accordingly to allow for full functionality," Mr Hurst said.

The digital edition adds an exciting new dimension to the popular Redlands Community Telephone Directory ? a community project sponsored and published by Bayside Bulletin and The Redland Times that has supported businesses in the region for 11 years.

The combination of the print and online editions of the Redlands Directory ensures residents will always be able to find a local business or service for their everyday needs.

"For advertisers, the dual options of print and online mean that every segment of their potential market will know of their services ? regardless of how the customers choose to search for the information," Mr Hurst said.

The print version of the directory features a comprehensive directory of Redlands businesses published on distinctive pink paper, along with an exclusive community directory and Redland street maps.

"The product continues to support and encourage our community's support of local businesses by restricting listings to only Redland City-based businesses," Mr Hurst said.

The Redlands directory is the essential guide to living and working in the Redlands, with 50,000 print editions published throughout the city each year.
