Redlands to the rescue

06 Feb, 2012 07:50 PM
A group of seven Redland volunteers, headed by Victoria Point’s Suzie Masters, has set up a page on a Facebook website for locals to make donations.

The group made its name during last year’s flood, when it ran the highly successful Queensland Community Flood Relief drop-off centre on Redland Bay Road at Capalaba.

Now the group is rallying the community again to raise much-needed funds and collect donations for those affected by the floods in south-west Queensland.

The group is still waiting for people to volunteer their homes and business addresses as drop-off points in Redland.

The new address to the Facebook page as of Monday at 7pm is https://www.facebook.com/QldNSWFl oodassist?sk=app_214042745289411

Ms Masters said the page would have up-to-date information from charities and government departments on what and where items were needed.
