Toxic stonefish found in canal

09 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
RABY Bay residents were surprised when a bait net, cast off a pontoon in Warner Canal, dragged up a stonefish.

Len Branch, who lives on the canal, caught the stonefish the same week two were found at the beach at Amity Point, North Stradbroke Island.

Redland City Council is considering an upgrade of the Amity Point swimming enclosure after the fish were found.

Stonefish spikes carry a highly toxic poison.

If stung by a stonefish, call triple zero and immerse the affected limb in hot water.

Somehow this will be Anna Bligh's fault, of course. Anything to do with water. Too little a few years back, Anna Bligh. Too much last year, Anna Bligh again. Again this year too much in the SW Qld, Bloody Anna again. Now too many stonefish in the sea, Well we all know who to blame again, don't we?

Been 'reliably' informed that the stonefish were in the RCC area and Mayor is to blame.

How come god is never blamed when things go wrong.

Oh yeah, that's it, its god testing us.

Unconfirmed reports of Melva in bikini armed with a feather duster shoo-ing the stonefish out of the canal.

Apparently Straddie being visited tomorrow.

Allegedly the stonefish are organising 'Occupy' groups.

Because Anna 'allowed/ caused' the flood that filled the Bay with nutrients that encouraged fish populations to flourish its her problem, again.

you've got it all wrong.

Gillard is at fault nothing like this ever happened before the Carbon Tax and with her lack of leadership all the stonefish have stepped out of line

Perhaps we should wait for the Carbon Tax to start before we blame it for everything.

Oh why wait, let's just continue blaming the three girls for the demise of the country, state and city. Doesn't matter that the world is in financial free fall, the state has the biggest and most floods and the city is recovering from the previous decade of wasteful councillors.

Seems to be the red neck macho man thing to do.
