Calvary cross country runners are tops

01 Jun, 2009 03:59 PM
FOR the first time in the college's history, Calvary College was awarded the overall aggregate trophy at the Pacific District Secondary School Sports Association Cross Country event held recently at California Creek Golf Club.

The event was contested by schools in the local district.

Calvary Cross Country coach and sports teacher James Colefax was proud of the team effort.

"We have been teaching the students the value of this as a team event rather than an individual one. I am especially pleased they were able to take this on board and come together to contribute to the college result" he said.

Special mention should be made of the following outstanding results:

Open Boys: Samuel Oates 1st; Joshua Ruggeri 2nd, Brandon Manly 3rd; Open Girls: Nyamouch Yacuak 2nd; 16 Girls: Nyajame Yacuak 2nd; 16 Boys: Lance Greaves 1st;

14 Boys: Joseph Field 3rd; 13 Girls: Ashleigh Hansom 3rd; 13 Boys: James Honey 2nd.
