Jess a star at futsal

REDLAND Bay's Jess Anderson has a great passion for soccer and futsal.

The 11-year-old, who is in remission from juvenile arthritis, was goalkeeper for the Queensland team that won the National Futsal Championships in Sydney last month.

Jess said she had been playing soccer for three years, but enjoyed the indoor version, futsal, because it was "fast paced".

"My goal is to get into the Matildas (the national women's soccer team) by about 2013," she said.

Mum Annette Anderson said her daughter had "always been really focused and really active".
