The Bulldogs dominated Saturday’s match against Logan Lightning, but an outstanding display from the opposition keeper Tye McDonald kept the score to 2-1.
On the few times Logan did pose a threat Jono Burrowes proved he has a safe pair of hands, and he was well backed up by his defenders.
Again Grant Marshall and Scott Sargent dominated the midfield, and a strong win there by Marshall set up the first goal.
He put the ball through to Sean Curtis who passed to Antony Schiavo to finish off.
Other results: In the first round of the Silver Boot Eastern Suburbs matched the Bulldogs goal for goal until Sam Owen wrapped up the win 4-3, after Joel Drewek hit the post.
