THE Redlands RSL recenlty hosted the Under 15 and Under 18 Billiards State Championships.
The Under 15 title was being defended by Keiran Frettingham, who was looking for a triple, as this was the last year he would be able to enter the championships.
The titles were filled with close games with the semi-final between Keiran and Hayden Goode being a closely fought battle. The result was a two point win to Keiran.
Hayden made the highest break of the U15 tournament with a massive 63.
Keiran played Vijay in the final with Keiran the emerging winner with a score of 361-237.
The Under 18 championships were played on the Sunday and competitors all came out fighting.
The play was of a high standard and again games were fought out over the 75 minutes with the young boys making the referees work hard.
Hayden and Vijay fought out a semi-final but Hayden was again denied by just two points to gain entry into the final.
Keiran was again victorious beating Vijay 459 to 276. Congratulations go to Keiran who had his work cut out and had to play hard to win through to take both titles.
Particular mention goes to Hayden Goode who is only just 11.
