THREE members of Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club were recognised for their outstanding service to lifesaving at the recent South Coast Branch Awards Night held at the Holiday Inn on the Gold Coast.

Calan Lovitt was named the Pelerman Junior Lifesaver of the Year (U18), Aaron Gage was awarded the South Coast Branch Nipper of the Year Award and George Hill was honoured with the Clive Hammond Silver Medal.

Prior to Calan being honoured by the branch as Junior Lifesaver of the Year, he also received great accolades from his club at its awards night where he won the Stephen Price Memorial Junior Club Spirit Award on top of recording the highest beach patrol hours for the club for the season (more than 200 patrol hours).

The 2007-08 season saw Aaron Gage recognised for some great achievements including being the Junior Club Captain and overall Male Nipper of the Year for his Point Lookout junior activities.

Aaron was also one of six finalists for the Queensland Pelerman Nipper of the Year.

He now moves up into the senior club next season as a cadet member.

The Clive Hammond Silver Medal, which George Hill won, is awarded each year to an individual from each of the six SLSQ Branches who has provided something special to his/her club's progress.

George was honoured with this award for his role as President of Point Lookout Club.
