Ravens all set to fly this year

25 Feb, 2010 03:14 PM
AS the NFL season draws to a close with the spectacle of the Superbowl, Redland gridiron players have been busy, representing their club, state, country and, in one case, the world.

Former Bayside Ravens player Jesse Williams (from Morningside), now playing college football in Arizona, represented 'The World' in the inaugural USA vs World game in Miami, USA.

Williams drew accolades from all involved for his skills, athleticism and attitude.

He is looking now to use this as a springboard to further his collegiate career at a Division 1 University.

Carina's Will Sunerton and Cleveland's Tyler Willis represented Australia as part of the Junior National Team's tour to American Samoa, the duo earning starting positions and part of the memorable experience in January.

At the local level, pre-season activities are soon to heat up, with sign-ons planned for March.

Bayside Ravens will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year and are hoping to build on the enormous success of 2009, when they won the junior championship and finished within a point of championship success at senior level.
