Cyclones hit by the rain

11 Mar, 2010 03:38 PM
SOUTHERN Bay Cyclones rugby training and trial match schedule was thrown into disarray as a result of the inclement weather of the past week.

The club decided to cancel some training sessions to protect the ground and the Seniors Shorts Competition at Caloundra also fell victim to the heavy rainfall on the Sunshine Coast.

Nevertheless, there is great energy and enthusiasm already evident in the junior practice sessions with all coaches and managers eagerly passing on their knowledge and skills to their young charges.

While most age groups have good numbers of registered players, the under 15 (i.e. boys who were born in 1995) and under 13 (boys who were born in 1997) would benefit from having additional numbers.

Under 6 and under 7, while meeting minimum requirements, would also welcome new players.

Training for under 6-under 10 remains at Thursday night at 6pm, and under 11-under 17 is on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm.

The season propers the Saturday after Easter April 10. New players or returning old players are always welcome.

Training for seniors is also at Sel Outridge Park, Redland Bay on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 6.30pm-8pm. Club contacts are: Juniors: Ian Smits on 0405 358 685 Seniors: Peter McFerran on 0419 735 108.
