CAPALABA Central Shopping Centre and the Leukaemia Foundation hosted the World's Greatest Shave fundraiser event for the fifth year in a row.
The event received an overwhelming response of more than 50 participants and raised funds for research into leukaemia.
Funds support the foundation's efforts to provide free practical and emotional support to people with blood cancer, as well as research into better treatments and cures.
Those who did not want to shave joined in the fun by adding a few daring colour highlights in their hair.
The brave ones who did shave drew a crowd of onlookers who joined the fun.
Children joined in by having their faces painted.
Everyday, 31 Australians are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood disorder, totalling more than 11,500 a year.
Although survival rates are improving, blood cancers are still the second biggest cause of cancer death in Australia.
The foundation receives no ongoing government funding and public support such as Capalaba Central's World's Greatest Shave is what helps the lives of thousands of Australians every year.
