O'Donnells love the bluegrass

LOCAL family act the O'Donnell Family will be guests entertainers at the Redlands Modern Country Music Club social on Saturday, June 2, at 6pm.

Sharing a love of high energy bluegrass music, the band from Carbrook is made up of parents John (banjo) and Wendy (guitar), together with their three children, Johnny (bass guitar), Jacqui (mandolin) and Katelyn.

In December 2010, the O'Donnells released their debut album, featuring a range of original and classic bluegrass, gospel and country tracks.

In 2011, they received a finalist nomination as 2011 Group or Duo of The Year in the Queensland Country Music Awards for Recording Artists.

The family brings a fresh approach to the Australian country music scene with their strong vocal harmonies and traditional acoustic music.

The venue for the social is Redlands Modern Country Music Clubhouse, Pinklands Sports Reserve, Cleveland Redland Bay Road, Thornlands.

As well as the O'Donnells, members of the club will perform.

Admission is $4 for members and $5 for visitors.
