THE students of Alexandra Hills TAFE early childhood studies had their hands full recently when 550 kids descended on the campus for Under 8s Day.
Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE early childhood tutor Paulette Holden said the day was a fun-filled event for all involved.
"The day served a dual purpose for the TAFE students because it was linked to their assessment and modules," she said.
"We also like to give feedback to the community and invite them to enjoy a fun day."
Paulette said the Under 8s Day was about encouraging all of the community to celebrate the role that young children play in the community.
"The Under 8s Day also focused on the theme of language, so we had a few of the librarians down reading books to the children," she said.
"The emergency services also headed along, and they were really active and great with the children.
"But the students conducted their own activities throughout the day and were kept very busy."
