Ukes to twang at bluegrass fest

ALL ukulele players are invited to head along to the Redlands Bluegrass Festival tomorrow to take part in the most anticipated jamming workshop of the weekend.

One of the festival organisers Cilla Wills said she was ecstatic that the festival had organised a uke workshop on Saturday, July 14, at 9.30am.

"The ukulele players will workshop a song together and will then perform the opening song on the main stage during the Saturday night concert," she said. "I'm certain we'll pull it off and have a great time doing it."

Cilla said anyone was welcome to attend the workshop, even if they had never played before.

"All you need is a ukulele and you're all set. We'll teach you a few chords and just with that you will be able to play on stage that night," she said.

The workshop will be conducted by Ross Clark, a performer with the Brisbane Ukulele Musicans Society.
