BAYSIDE Ravens will look to secure back to back Charity Bowl gridiron victories on Saturday, July 28 in the season opener event at Langlands Park, Coorparoo.
The Ravens collected the trophy last year and will be hoping to open the season on a strong note in the contest with defending Gridiron Queensland champions Gold Coast Stingrays.
The 4pm game forms the focal point of a big day of football at Langlands, commencing at 1pm with the Ghosts of Gridiron veterans contest between two composite teams WarDogs and Blue Steel with many of the founders and long-term contributors to our sport in Queensland looking to relive their glory days.
All funds raised will go to worthwhile causes, the Leukemia Foundation and Spinal Research Queensland. A gold coin donation upon entry will boost the collections.
Ravens coaching director Steve Box said the club was again proud to be involved in the event.
"The Charity Bowl is a great way for our community to give back, and to be able to support these causes with our team's first taste of game action for the season is even better,"he said.
