A 16-YEAR-OLD boy and a 17-year-old man have been remanded in custody after appearing in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on Friday to face charges of armed robbery at two Victoria Point liquor stores this week.
Both teenagers, from Redlands, were arrested by Cleveland CIB detectives on Thursday night.
On Wednesday, the BWS Victoria Point liquor store in the Victoria Point Town Centre shopping complex was held up by a man with a knife, wearing a green-and-yellow mask.
Around 7pm, he threatened a male shop attendant and ran off with cash.
On Thursday, The Vine liquor store at the Victoria Point Lakeside shopping centre, was held up at 7pm.
A man, wearing a green-and-yellow mask threatened a male shop attendant with a knife.
He stole a large amount of cash and a bottle of Bundaberg Rum before fleeing the scene.
Both teens have been charged with armed robbery and entering premises with intent to commit crimes.
The 16-year-old boy is due to reappear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on August 3 and the 17-year-old is due to reappear on September 18.
