Generate power from tips

I DON'T want this seen as a criticism of Redland City Council, but more as an enquiry, as I do not know what is involved.

Our council is paying about $2million a year for the carbon tax, with the tips being the major contributor. Tweed Shire Council has reduced its carbon tax tip payments to almost nothing and, in fact, is producing power for the grid by burning methane generated at the dumps.

Why can't Redlands do the same?
