Carbon tax mumbo jumbo

IT is predictable that the "green army" would mobilise in defence of this ridiculous carbon tax.

Let us look at some of the claims, mostly from people who are not interested in scientific facts.

Ninety-eight per cent of scientists agree that a carbon tax will affect "climate". Is Tim Flannery's prediction that the Brisbane dams will never fill included in the science? The CSIRO's predictions on sea level rises were wrong. Much of the IPCC's predictions have been wrong.

CO2 is not a pollutant. Without CO2, vegetation would die. Increasing CO2 increases growth. Renaming CO2 as carbon is ignorant. It is typical green fraud.

If Labor and the Greens are re-elected, the Greens would require a $100 a tonne carbon tax to shut down the coal-fired power stations. How do you refine ores without carbon? Show us the Green-Labor steel making process without carbon.

Replacing coal-fired power stations with windmills is impossible. That is what "clean energy" is supposed to be.

The tax on council waste is ridiculous.

Go to Asia and look at the piles of waste. Look at garbage dumps of cities with a population equal to that of Australia.

Where are the calculations for the Prime Minister's claim that we are acting on climate?

If Australia was shut down altogether, there would be no effect on the climate.

In an age of unprecedented scientific advances, we are bombarded with the mumbo jumbo of self-appointed scientists.

Tell the Canadians that they need a carbon tax to reduce their temperature by two degrees when they experience temperatures of minus 40.

One thousand years ago, and in Roman times, the Earth's temperature was two degrees warmer than today.

Sadly, it is a case of don't confuse me with facts my mind is made up.

If you call me a sceptic, thanks for the compliment; I am in the same group as Einstein and Galileo.- J. de Viana, Redland Bay
