SHELBY Forbes, 14, of Victoria Point may like singing in other languages but singing high elvish is a whole new experience.
As a member of the Voices of Birralee, Shelby will perform with the choir at QPAC tonight and tomorrow over the screening of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
The 47-voice choir and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra form a live backdrop for the film, adding an ethereal and shimmering quality to the experience.
The orchestra will play continuously for the film.
Shelby has been in the choir since age 10 saying she enjoyed the experience for the languages and for friendship.
Her mother Michelle said being in the choir was also a way for Shelby to build confidence.
Appropriately, the choir has recently returned from a New Zealand tour where it visited Hobbit Town.
Tonight's performance will not be a first performance at QPAC for Shelby, who has sung at the annual Spirit of Christmas event for the past two years.
Tickets to the shows are $30 to $90. Book on 136 246.
