ABOUT 400 people are expected to attend tomorrow's community forum on North Stradbroke Island.
A panel of 10 will talk about the way forward for the island and its youth and address five agenda items before fielding questions from the audience.
The forum was called after arsonists torched the Dunwich Post Office and bashed the postmistress on July 21.
Escalating violence, use and supply of illegal drugs, juvenile crime, the sentencing system at Cleveland Magistrates Court and the Murri Court, and extra policing will be discussed.
Panellists are Redland Mayor Karen Williams, Member for Cleveland Mark Robinson, Assistant Police Commissioner Andy Henderson, Chief Superintendent Jim Kehoe, Inspector Bill Knowles and island policeman Acting Sergeant Danny Wruck.
The forum is at the Dunwich Community Hall, on the corner of Junner and Ballow Roads, opposite Straddie Sharks and the John Stark Oval at Dunwich.
It starts at 5.30pm tomorrow and will finish at 7.30pm so people from the mainland can catch the last water taxi from One Mile to Cleveland at 7.55pm.
Donations to the island's fire appeal can be made online at www.mycause.com.au.
