Fire is threatening homes in Brisbane's north after a hazard reduction burn jumped containment lines this afternoon.
Firefighters were conducting a hazard reduction burn in grasslands at Mitchelton when the fire got out of control about midday.

Emergency services have warned residents in Ironbark Place, Kooya Road, Morningvale Close, Evergreen Street, Greenview Close and Naturesque Close in Mitchelton, and Yarrabee Road at The Gap to take extra precautions.
Residents are advised to take their pets inside, move cars to a safe location, remove outdoor furniture and check for embers on their property.
Seventeen fire crews are working to contain the blaze.
Fire crews are requesting onlookers and motorists avoid the area.
