REDLAND athletes have played a role in pushing Australia into second place in the medal tally at the London Paralympics.
Only three days after Cleveland swimmer Daniel Fox won silver in the men's 200m freestyle and fourth in the 100m backstroke, Wellington Point's Cameron Carr (pictured) was helping his wheelchair rugby team to victory.
Carr said he was delighted with the win and was looking forward to the next game against Sweden, due to kick off late last night.
However, hopes were dashed for the women's goalball team, headed by Wellington Point's Meica Christensen, when the team lost to Sweden 8-5 on Wednesday.
The team also lost its games to Canada (1-3); Japan (1-3) and the US (0-3).
